this website (kaangoren.nl) is a personal portfolio run by kaan gören, based in the netherlands. i care about your privacy, so i keep data collection to an absolute minimum. this page explains exactly what is and isn't collected when you visit.

analytics

i use umami, a privacy-friendly analytics tool. it does not use cookies and does not collect any personal or identifiable information.

it records only aggregated, anonymous statistics so i can see how the site is used:

• pages visited and how long the site is used
• the referring website or link you arrived from
• browser, operating system, and device type
• screen size
• country (derived from your ip address, which is never stored)

this data cannot be traced back to you. there is no cross-site tracking, no advertising, and no profiling. if your browser sends a "do not track" signal, it is respected.

cookies

this site sets no cookies — for analytics or anything else.

what your browser stores locally

to remember your preferences, a few small values are saved in your own browser's local storage. they stay on your device and are never sent to any server:

• your chosen color theme
• your chosen language

you can clear these any time through your browser settings.

third-party services

to deliver content, the site relies on a few external providers:

• cloudflare — hosts and delivers the images and videos in the gallery
• fontshare — serves the clash grotesk fonts

when your browser loads these files, the provider may process technical connection data (such as your ip address) purely to deliver the content. i do not control or receive that data.

your rights

under the gdpr you have the right to access, correct, or erase your data, to object to processing, and to data portability. because this site stores no personal data, there is typically nothing to retrieve — but if you have any concern, email work.kaangoren@gmail.com and i'll respond.

you also have the right to lodge a complaint with the dutch data protection authority (autoriteit persoonsgegevens).

changes

if this policy changes, the "last updated" date above will change with it. please check back occasionally.
